West Seattle Summerfest is this coming weekend and I'll be there again this year.
This is an awesome neighborhood festival. Super local - great stuff for everyone. There's tons of kid's activities - like making art and a romping carnival area (those blow-up jumpy thingies!). Storefronts on the street have sidewalk sales going on with great deals - check out the Easy Street tent for loads of music. All the restaurants have outdoor areas set up on the sidewalk just for this weekend with food and drink specials. There is also a food court area with the usual festival food vendors. And bands with live music at both ends of the festival. Plus there are garden demos, performers, and more.
Finally, there is this great street festival of vendors, with pop-up shop tents from all over. Some are hand made goods. Some are commercial products and services. Some are imported goods from around the world. It's a little bit of something for everyone. Come check it out.
Friday through Sunday, July 12-14
Festival hours: Fri and Sat 10am - 8pm, Sun 11am-6pm
Those hours are for the whole hullabaloo - evening street dances included. Most of the tent booths close down at 6pm on Friday and Saturday, although some folks will stay open til the very end. (I usually leave at 6pm). The restaurants obviously stay open til late night.
The link above has all the scoop, from the band line-up, to directions, to kids stuff, etc.
My booth location is different this year than the last few years (yeah, I'm not sure why, boo). I'm farther north, facing the opposite side of the street. It's officially called space #156 (list of vendors), and it's located about 3 booths down from the very north end, at the corner of Oregon St. Sort of in front of West Seattle Coins? It's not a corner, I'm in a row. Please look for me! MAP
Hope to see you there! Oh, don't forget - they have the usual Sunday Farmer's market there too - in the parking lot behind the food booths. And Bakery Nouveau will be even busier than usual, so head over early before they sell out!
